# Camera & Device

{% hint style="info" %}
Most camera and guidance issues are caused by browser permissions, motion settings, or another app already using the camera.
{% endhint %}

**What’s happening**

* The lens is smudged, fogged, or scratched.

**What to do**

* Wipe the lens with a soft cloth.
* Check that the lens is clean before starting again.

* Hold the phone steady and try again.
* If the guides still do not move correctly, check the settings below.

#### The phone does not stay level or the scan feels difficult to control

**What’s happening**

* The phone may be moving too quickly.
* The device may be tilted too far.
* The image may be taken from too high above the panel or wheel.

**What to do**

* Slow down and keep the phone as steady as possible.
* Hold the phone level with the panel or wheel you are photographing.
* Avoid taking images from too high above the vehicle.
* If needed, stop, reset your position, and try the image again.

#### The scan works better on one device than another

**What’s happening**

* Older devices or outdated browsers may not support all guided features as smoothly.

**What to do**

* Use the latest version of your browser where possible.
* If you are on desktop, use the latest version of **Google Chrome** or **Microsoft Edge**.
* If one device is not working properly, try another phone or browser if available.

***

#### It is difficult to review the results properly

**What’s happening**

* The scan is designed for mobile capture, but detailed review may be easier on a larger screen.

**What to do**

* Where available, open the results on a desktop or laptop for easier review.
* If text or image detail is hard to read on mobile, switch to a larger screen if possible.
* Use the latest version of **Google Chrome** or **Microsoft Edge** for the best experience.
