# Digital Clean up

***

### 1) Perform a factory reset (recommended)

A “Master” or “Factory” reset is the most effective way to clear data from the infotainment system.

**Typical navigation path**\
Settings → System → Reset options\
(Terminology varies by manufacturer.)

**This typically removes**

* Saved navigation destinations (including “Home”)
* Radio presets
* Bluetooth pairings
* Stored Wi-Fi passwords
* User profiles and preferences (where supported)

{% hint style="info" %}
A full reset is the simplest approach because it clears multiple data sources in one step.
{% endhint %}

### 2) Remove the vehicle from the manufacturer app account

Deleting an app from a phone does not remove the vehicle from the account. The vehicle should be unbound from the account used for connected services.

**What to do**

* Open the manufacturer’s app
* In vehicle settings, select the option to **remove** / **unbind** the vehicle from the account

**Notes**

* In some systems, removing the vehicle from the primary/admin profile can also trigger a reset event in the vehicle.
* If paid “connected services” or “digital extras” subscriptions are active, they may need to be cancelled separately to prevent ongoing billing.

### 3) Clear Bluetooth and infotainment profiles (if a full reset is not completed)

If a full factory reset is not performed, remove personal profiles manually.

**Minimum actions**

* Delete Bluetooth pairings and call history (where shown)
* Remove saved devices and user profiles
* Clear any stored Wi-Fi networks and passwords

**Phone mirroring**

* Remove paired devices from phone mirroring services (for example, in-car phone projection features) so the next driver cannot reconnect automatically.

{% hint style="warning" %}
Manual cleanup is more error-prone than a full factory reset because data can be stored in multiple menus and profiles.
