# Scan Process explained

## The scan process explained

The scan is a simple step-by-step flow. You’ll be shown exactly what to capture, and each step turns **green** when it’s complete.

***

### What happens first: permissions

When you begin, you’ll see a **permission** screen.

* Please select **Allow** when asked
* This gives your device the permissions needed to use the camera correctly

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you don’t allow permissions, the scan can’t continue.
{% endhint %}

***

### Next: follow the capture requests (one by one)

You’ll then be given a sequence of **image capture requests**.

For each request you will see:

* A guide image showing the **framing** we need
* A capture step you complete before moving to the next one

Work through them **in order** until they are all completed.

#### How you know a step is done

* Each request is marked **green** when it’s been successfully captured

#### Can I skip steps?

Depending on your provider, some steps may be:

* **Required**, or
* **Skippable**

Even if you *can* skip, we recommend you **don’t**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Even if you’re confident there’s no damage, a high-quality image helps confirm that and reduces the risk of avoidable queries later.
{% endhint %}

***

### Upload happens as you go (don’t use Back)

Your images upload **as you progress** through the scan.

* **Don’t use the Back button**
* You won’t be able to return to a previous step to replace images

{% hint style="warning" %}
If you need to correct anything, do it at the end during the verification stage.
{% endhint %}

***

### Corrections happen at the end (you stay in control[^1])

After the scan, you’ll be able to review and verify the results.

You have full control to:

* Remove anything that looks wrong
* Add anything that’s been missed
* Edit locations or severity

Nothing is final until you confirm it.

***

### Final upload and report timing

When you complete the scan, you’ll see an **upload** screen.

Occasionally, some browsers don’t refresh properly at this point and it can look like it’s stuck.

* In most cases, it has finished **uploading**
* If nothing changes after a couple of minutes, you can **refresh the browser**

Your report should arrive in around **10–15 minutes**, ready for the **verification stage**, before anything is sent to your **Mobility Provider**.

[^1]: There is a verification stage you can add, agree or disagree with any result.
